In November and December, SHRM-Atlanta volunteers did what they do best: share their knowledge, give their time and provide a positive learning environment. We had the opportunity to lead virtual workshops on Interviewing Skills and Time & Task Management for Back on My Feet members. Back on My Feet seeks to revolutionize the way society approaches homelessness. BoMF’s “unique model demonstrates that if you first restore confidence, strength and self-esteem, individuals are better equipped to tackle the road ahead. For all in need, Back on My Feet aims to provide practical training and employment resources for achieving independence; an environment that promotes accountability; and a community that offers compassion and hope.”
SHRM-Atlanta has partnered with Back on My Feet for the past year and volunteers have shared best practices, real life solutions and positively engaged with the BoMF community via workshops. BoMF is one of the great community partnerships that SHRM-Atlanta collaborates with as part of our Workforce Readiness and Community Volunteerism vertical. These volunteer opportunities are also a wonderful member benefit as members are able to build peer-to-peer relationships while volunteering as “Team SHRM-Atlanta” and Foster Community.
SHRM-Atlanta is excited to continue our partnership with Back on My Feet and will lead 2 additional workshops in January. If you are looking for ways to lead and give back to our community, please visit our Community Volunteer page.
Happy New Year!
